More about Valerie
Valerie’s formative years were spent in Deep River, Ontario, a community where the arts, music, theatre and sport were an integral part of daily life. After travelling to Europe as a ski instructor and attending post secondary study in design, Valerie returned to the Ottawa Valley to raise a family, work, contribute as an active community volunteer and pursue several diverse and creative passions.
As her children left home to follow their own interests, Valerie’s journey into the world of quilting began to grow and evolve. Her love of natural fibre, clean line, colour, texture and detail, original design and inventive techniques inspired collections of small graphic quilts presented at galleries and fine craft exhibits.
Most recently, Valerie’s creative ventures have included retreat planning, pattern design, trunk shows and workshop presentations. She continues to produce custom art quilts and exhibit pieces.
Her quilts have featured in industry advertising and promotions, quilting publications and at “Quilt market” Houston and “Modern Quilt Guild” show, Pasadina.
